ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bruce Hedges is a professional illustrator, whose interest in flying has led him to focus on aviation subjects. His studies at California Art Institute emphasized drawing and painting the human figure, and a natural result is Hedges' preference for including people in his paintings.
Nostalgia is also a factor in his work - he enjoys painting scenes of times gone by. Bruce's painting "G'bye Girls," showing a wife and daughters watching as dad prepares to take off in a Stearman from a Kansas wheat field, won an award of merit at the Seventh Annual Horizons of Flight exhibition.
Bruce is a member of the American Society of Aviation Artists and resides in Pasadena, California.
